About
the Florida
The Florida Publishers Association, Inc., offers Florida’s book publishers
an opportunity for education and networking, provides its members with
support, and is a clearinghouse for up-to-date publishing information.

• Association of American Publishers
(www.Publishers.org)
• PMA, the Independent Book Publishers Assn. (www.PMA-Online.org) • Small Publishers Association of North America (www.SPANnet.org)
FPA also takes a strong First Amendment stance and assists the Association of

at stake.

FPA Membership Benefits
Display Opportunities
FPA offers cooperative display of titles and sales materials in its booths at
the following shows:
• Florida Library Association’s (FLA) Annual Conference in April
• Florida Association of Media in Education (FAME, school librarians) conference in the fall Further, PMA, the Independent Book Publishers Association, affiliate groups frequently extend their member prices to FPA members for display at other regional library/bookseller shows, and you will receive these offers in the FPA Sell More Books! Newsletter. Educational Opportunities
At FPA’s Mini-Colleges and Ed-U-Conferences, we provide both beginning and
advanced publishers — as well as traditionally published authors, aspiring
book publishers and self-publishing authors — timely information to help
them create a quality, marketable product and sell more books. Conferences are
usually held for one full day, often in conjunction with outside publishing
events, such as bookseller shows, library shows, book fairs and reading
festivals.
Topics regularly featured at conferences include the entire spectrum of publishing subjects: production, editing, copyright and fair use, First Amendment issues, typesetting, illustration and photography, manufacturing, distribution, marketing, promotion, traditional sales, nontraditional sales, Internet marketing and sales, catalog sales, print and broadcast media, legal and business issues, and more. Attendees win valuable publishing door prizes! FPA member vendors are always provided an opportunity to show their wares to attendees at all FPA educational events.
